Best Placement For Wall-Mounted Bathroom Cabinets in Small Baths

Still, you do the best with what you've got. Purchasing bathroom cabinets to augment the little storage the room offers is a great idea. Where do you put them to get the most for your money? You can best answer that question by asking yourself a few others first.

First, do you need the storage by the sink for shaving gels, razors, facial cleansers and other hygiene related items? Do you, perhaps, need it more by the toilet to store cleaners and extra rolls of tissue or things you'd use there? Perhaps, instead, you need a cabinet close to a tub or shower to hold soap, shower gel or shampoos? Where you put it should directly correspond to where you need it most. When you've answered these questions, you're half way there to locating your wall-mounted bathroom cabinets in the most auspicious places.

Now that you know, for instance, that you want a cabinet near the sink. Look at the available wall space. Maybe you've got a mirror above the vanity and sink and no wall. The light switch and an outlet block the wall by the door. The only wall left is between the sink and the far wall where there's a window. Measure the available space. A wall-mounted cabinet should be high enough up that it won't interfere with objects below, i.e. you don't bump your head on the door when it is open. It should, however, be "reachable". No one wants a stepstool taking up even more of our precious space.

Use these simple rules and your new wall cabinet will look great and perform beautifully even in a tiny bath.
